How to Gain 5 Pounds in an Afternoon

Oct 9, 2015 | Blog

Y’all, I seriously think I gained at least five pounds yesterday making all of the delicious recipes that will appear in our upcoming November issue. For real. Usually, we feature one recipe and one cocktail. For November, we have three recipes and two cocktails! Sometimes I can go a little overboard. Now, you know I’d never ask  you to make a dish that I don’t love myself- so rest assured, all these recipes are SO. DANG. GOOD! You’ll add them to your collection and make them again and again.

These are not traditional Thanksgiving recipes. I have a belief that while we might want to try a new side dish every now and then, we all pretty much have our menu lined out from year to year. I know if I didn’t make my green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and sweet potato casserole (half with and half without pecans for those picky eaters at our table), I’d have a full fledge riot on my hands. Now, each year we do try to make the turkey in a different way. One year it’s fried, the other baked, the other infrared – yeah, we like to go crazy every now and then.

I don’t want to give away any details on the food, gotta keep you in suspense until the magazine hits stands. But, I promise, you’re gonna love them, and your friends and family will too. Just stock up on butter and brown sugar and you should be fine.

Better get back to finishing up the DIY’s I am crafting for the November issue. I’m going to get you in the Christmas spirit and give you two fantastic DIY gift ideas for those you love!
